King Arthur the Legend King Arthur was a great warrior of his time. Surprisingly all the researcher that I found say that mayhap King Arthur wasn’t a king. But some of the battles that Arthur has led were found to be real and in real places. On the other hand this man has been built upon by different authors of different times. The legend of Arthur has grown from just an ordinary warrior going to battle into a king who led his people to greatness but ends up dying in a tragic way. King Arthur was the basis for many author’s works and because of those authors he has become a person of mystique and a legend.
King Arthur
King Arthur was a legendary king ruling during Britain’s early history. He came to power as king and ruled over the Court of Camelot after pulling the sword Excalibur from a stone. During his time as king, he ruled with constant advice from a wizard named Merlin.
There is an ever-present debate about whether or not the legend of King Arthur is a purely mythical tale. He is seen as a prominent figure in British mythology, although there are some historians that also believe that the tales of King Arthur are based on the actual events in the life of a true British war leader.
King Arthur was a significant figure during the middle ages. He impacted the middle ages by representing loyal kings. Based on the way he did his duties and other forms of work is how the other kings tried to do theirs.
Merlin
During his rule, King Arthur had the continuous advice of a great wizard named Merlin who helped to guide Arthur on his journeys. Some claim that Merlin was born the son of a demon and a mortal woman. They also believe that Merlin was a shape-shifter and could spend his time as different objects and animals. People have also claimed that Merlin was the creator of the Round Table where King Arthur’s knights sat. In addition, people have accredited Merlin with building the stone structures at Stonehenge.
STONEHENGE
After Uther; the present King of England, passed away, many people were concerned who the next King would be. Merlin placed a magical sword in a stone and it was engraved saying, “Whoso pulleth out this sword of this stone is the rightwise born king of all England." Many people tried to pull the sword out and claim their rightful place as king, but all failed. Then soon after, Arthur came along and gave it a try because he needed a sword for a tournament. He succeeded and took his spot on the throne as the King of England.
Excalibur
Many people get confused on what sword Excalibur is. To be honest, it is not the one Arthur pulls out of the stone, in fact; it is actually one The Lady of the Lake gives him. After Arthur promises to grant her a request, she gives him the best sword, with an unbreakable blade, fashioned by an elf smith. Also with the sword, she gave him a scabbard, which would always protect him for as long as he wore it.
The Holy Grail
Holy Grail was used by Jesus at the Last Supper which was to get blood from Jesus while he was on the cross. The grail was taken to a castle guarded by Grail Kings. The grail was a cup that Jesus and his disciples drank from at the Last Supper. The Holy Grail has not been discovered but scientists are still looking for it. The grail provided food and water to Joseph when he was imprisoned in a tomb. The grail is supposed to be powerful.
Queen Guinevere Queen Guinevere was a highborn lady who wed Arthur because he fell in love with her. It is said that with her dowry she brought the Round Table and a hundred knights for her husband. But perhaps the most shocking truth about Guinevere was that she did not love Arthur. She fell in love with Sir Lancelot when he was rescuing her and thus begins the ending of Camelot. Even though she eventually brings ruin to Camelot, she is praised and looked upon as a ”true lover” and stars in her own epic love story.
